Finally spring is with us and the warmer days and blooming flora and fauna across the British Countryside are a joy.
Now is the time to start to change the wardrobe and think more about showing off the Hartwell and our fantastic clothing from the new spring/summer collection at those wonderful countryside shows and fairs.
Today we take a look at a selection of some of the best and biggest, but also one or two smaller shows. Whichever show you attend, when you’re dressed in a Hartwell country shirt or Blouse or in the arena sporting one of our fantastic Gilets, you are sure to turn some heads.
Plus we are excited to announce that Hartwell Clothing will be attending a major show, read on.
Fabulous Game and country fairs in 2023
Let’s start with a country show that will soon be upon us and is one of the iconic starts to the countryside show season, Burghley Game and Country Fair.
Burghley House is of course well known amongst equestrians for the world famous horse trails in August, but the game fair grows in stature every year.
The beautiful floral designs and prints in the Hartwell SS23 Collection are perfect for a great British countryside day out.
On May 28th and 29th the grounds will be filled with a wonderful display of arena events, world of dogs, fishing, shooting and crafts galore.
If you are based further North then on May 31st and June 1st plan a visit to the very popular Staffordshire county show at the Staffordshire showground.
There is a full Main Ring programme that takes place over both days, including the Bolddog Lings Motorcycle Display Team, the Mounted Games Association, Show Jumping, the Parade of Hounds and the Grand Parade of Livestock.
In the County Pursuits Area they have arena displays of Falconry, the West Lancs Dog Display Team (new for 2023) and the much loved Ferret Roadshow.
A memorable event, with something for everyone.
For the south of England two superb shows coming up are South Of England Show from the 9th to 11th of June and the Kent County Show on July 7th to the 9th.
The South Of England show offers every generation the chance to re-connect with the countryside and have a great day out. The Show features a non-stop programme of agricultural and equestrian displays, live entertainment, rural crafts, and an abundance of food, drink and shopping opportunities.
Additionally, visitors will be able to experience forestry, falconry, fly casting, and many more rural industries and crafts. Visit the Hartwell Clothing website and have your outfit planned or pack a change of clothes if you’re going to enjoy the entire weekend.
The Kent County Show is back at the Kent Showground in 2023 for a special celebratory event to mark the 100th anniversary of the Kent County Agricultural Society.
The Show attracts over 70,000 visitors across the three days, with hundreds of local trade stand exhibitors, food vendors and competitors too.
With agriculture at the forefront of everything they do, livestock classes will return with a full schedule, from dairy to beef, MV and non-MV sheep and goats, as well as a packed itinerary of equine classes including Showjumping and a number of HOYS qualifiers.
And now to the star of country fairs as far as we are concerned, The Game Fair.
As our iconic prints are inspired by nature and the British countryside we are delighted to once again be exhibiting at the Game Fair and invite you all to come and see us for a chat and to enjoy perusing our fantastic Hartwell Clothing collection.
The Game Fair runs from 28th July to 30th and is again hosted by the wonderful Ragley Hall Estate at Alcester.
Since 1958 The Game Fair has grown year on year and attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors, many of whom are involved in countryside pursuits or working in the countryside, but equally as many who simply enjoy the day, love the arena, shooting, fishing and falconry displays as well as some of the most fantastic farm to table food you will ever enjoy.
And of course there is the opportunity for some fantastic shopping with Hartwell’s contemporary countrywear topping the bill.
The spring/summer collection has already been well received and we love your feedback. Our designers have worked hard on our fabulous autumn/winter collection and we are looking forward to September’s launch.
The Game Fair is also about being noticed and we have some stunning items of clothing that ooze chic class, but look fantastic on the gun range, in and around the arena or at the champagne bar.
We can’t wait to welcome you all to our stand at the Game Fair.
Honourable country fair mentions
We wanted to add a few more for your enjoyment and we start with The Great Yorkshire Show from the 11th to the 14th of July.
The Great Yorkshire Show, on the edge of the Spa Town of Harrogate is known as one of the best agricultural shows in the UK, welcoming 140,000 people to the 250-acre showground.
The four-day show celebrates agriculture, food, farming and countryside, with a respect for tradition while welcoming new additions.
Top up the Hartwell with a visit to our nearby Yorkshire stockists Parnabys at Malton and Crowberry Wood for great service and clothing from the fantastic Hartwell range.
Two fantastic Northern Ireland shows for our lovely Irish friends to attend.
In June the much loved Armagh County Agricultural Show returns on Saturday the 10th June 2023 in the beautiful surroundings of Gosford Forest Park.
Armagh County Show is one of the longest-running shows in Ireland and the agriculture, local food and rural life elements of the show continue to be the driving force. Every effort is made to cater for all tastes and interests of the thousands of visitors that attend the event each year, enjoying Livestock Classes, Equestrian Events, and fabulous local produce.
August the 1st and 2nd are the dates to bookmark for the Fermanagh County Show.
The plans for 2023 are for a full programme of pedigree and commercial cattle, sheep, goats, poultry, dogs, schools, home industries and with a larger Food Pavilion. The pilot Classic Suckler Competition and Breeding Heifer Derby held last year was a great success and this will be continued
Explore the beautiful countryside and take a short drive to our local Hartwell stockists at The Auld Forge in Co Tyrone or the lovely people at Roalex Equestrian & Country Wear in Five Mile Town and be assured of a very warm welcome and great service.
